The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of the new “SRS” shipping service, operated by Emirates Shipping Line, to the services of Jeddah Islamic Port, further expanding the Kingdom’s maritime connectivity with international markets and enhancing supply chain efficiency across the Red Sea.

The new service will connect Jeddah Islamic Port with Mundra Port in India and the Port of Djibouti, with a carrying capacity of 2,144 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units). The initiative forms part of Mawani’s ongoing efforts to improve the operational performance and global competitiveness of Saudi ports while supporting the growth of national exports.

The introduction of the SRS service also aligns with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub and a key link connecting three continents.

Jeddah Islamic Port is one of the Kingdom’s largest and most strategically important ports. It features 62 multi-purpose berths, a dedicated logistics zone for warehousing and re-export activities, and a direct truck transport system connecting the port with inland destinations. The port is also equipped with advanced operational infrastructure, including two container terminals and specialized marine service berths, with a total handling capacity of 130 million tons.
